Believe In Your Music Career
They said no, but I didn’t listen!
17 years ago I applied to various colleges in the US because I was told I needed a backup plan if my 1st choice failed. The truth is that I REALLY only wanted to go to the UCLA Herb Albert School Of Music.
When I received a rejection letter from UCLA, this is how I flipped the script: I immediately drove there, found a spot in the center of the school and sat on the grass overlooking Royce Concert Hall.
I closed my eyes and asked, is this my next step?
I instantly knew in my heart that it was!
I then talked to Dr Kessner, the head of the music department at the community college I was attending and learned about filing for an appeal.
I did everything she told me to do and I was staring at an acceptance letter a few weeks later.
Then the next step was: how do I pay for this?
I ASKED Dr. Kessner again and she said, “Well you could audition for a scholarship. Go down to the office now!” I listened and applied for as many music scholarships as I could find. I rehearsed my songs, and was ready to compete. For weeks, I stayed up as long as it took to complete. BOOM! I received a full-tuition scholarship to my dream college--all paid.

This week, I knew in my heart that I was meant to take the next step and work closely with a team of Superstars like no other whose motto is “JUST BELIEVE”. So I said YES again to my desire.
This week I was reminded of Dr. Kessner who believed in me, my voice and my dream.
