This Week's Question v1.jpg

I’m very frustrated with where my music career is at! I’ve spent years posting on social media and still got a small audience that isn’t really engaged! Is there something wrong with my branding or message?

How do I get a real fanbase engaged?

If a person is grounded in who they are, they don't necessarily wonder, "is there something wrong with my brand or message". Their brand is the authentic expression of who they genuinely are!

They're in a stage past the idea of “getting fans” or “getting a gig” and have moved into how they can serve their fans. When they see how they can help, they create real connections and they immediately give freely.

To answer your question, here’s the place to start:

  • Don’t leave anybody hanging! Every time someone leaves a comment on any of your social accounts or your blog, respond! This is an amazing opp to create a megafan! When you don’t respond, it’s the e-equivalent to literally ignoring someone saying “what’s up!” to you IRL. Responding to each person who leaves a comment makes them feel special and that they didn’t waste their time sharing their thoughts with you.

  • When you give, you get a lot back. Think of it this way, if you created one real fan a day every day by really connecting with them, you’d have 365 fans at the end of just 1 year! Have real conversations and see if there is any way you can actually help them like offering a referral or recommendation!

  • Keep track of everyone you’re connecting with and follow up with them later.

  • Establish what is called the KLT Factor [know-like-trust factor], this builds a real relationship between the two of you that opens the pathway for them to become megafans that invest in you.  Real fans that want to purchase a VIP ticket or merch bundle from you!

—> 365 megafans x $100 = $36,500

A small but engaged fanbase of this size is more than enough to sustain your career. And these numbers are very scalable, depending on your willingness to be visible, be authentic, and make real connections with more people every day.

Be the artist that’s deeply connected with your fans and you’ll grow your career rapidly!
